The sun set heavily on the horizon as a sleek and careful figure made its way through a thick dense feild. A thin blanket of snow covered the territory, untouched, and creating a layer of soft powder. The feild was large, no flowers insight due to the weather. A small yet clean and soft flowing stream ran through the middle of it, and the small figure stopped suddenly at the edge. A few rocks allowed a pathway from once side to the other, although this figure seemed to ignore the other side compeltely.
The dainty figure, snow-white with a boots and a mask of black and dark brown sat still, tail brushed lightly against its brown boots. The fog and small zephyrs of wind ruffled its hair every once and a while, although this she-cat seemed not to notice. She was in a deep trance of thought and memories.
The stream was right on the virge of freezing, the icy water something a cat would not want to fall into. No fish swam, they lay near the muddy bottom where the cool liquid turned warmer. Trees lay thickly layered in the distant; pine, willow, and a few naked trees barely holding to the soil beneath them. At this part of day the sun usually warmed to the many flat stones by the stream, although during leaf-bare the temperature changed rapidly.
She slim and slightly hungry she-cat still stood in a stone-like position, although the many expressions and murmers that came from her were profoundly different. At points a soft purr and bright eyed expression was seen, others a choking and teary thought came to her.
The cat broke out of her trance and whipped around, ears pricked towards something in the distance. Fur slightly on end, and a sorrowful look held on her face she stood up and found a hostile pose on all four paws. A rustle in the tall grass infront of her assured her that there was something intruding; with her personal thoughts, or the small clearing, only she will know.
A bright she-figure shook herself, ridding herself of the many water drops from the blanket of snow. The first cat pounced, a thin and flexible figure streaking through the air. Bowling the new cat over, she easily pinned her because of her awareness that the cat was already coming. The second cat yowled when she was pinned and stared at the first figure straight in the eyes, "Fernstep, what was that for?" her tone was slightly annoyed yet playful and benevolent.
Fernstep sprang back in surprise and regained conciousness over the sitiuation, "I'm, I'm sorry. I didn't know it was you" she stared at her paws ashamed.
Sunwing purred and brushed against Fernstep, "It's okay, i didn't mean to interupt you while you were...er..." she she-cat trailed off.
"Don't worry, let's hunt while were out here. I'm sure we'll find atleast a few mice."
Sunwing reluctantly obliged, although knew her friend had escaped the subject. Fernsteps mid was complicated, she had fallen inlove with Sunwings brother as an apprentice. But her brother had dissapeared less than a moon before his warrior ceremony. Ever since then, Fernstep hadn't been the same, and oftened dissapeared from camp the "think"
Noth cats padded happily away, and returned to camp with a thrush and a field mouse each.
