Twilightpaw sat motionless in the clearing, paws tucked underneath her and staring off into oblivion. The tip of her tail twitched, deep in thought. She had woken up from a nightmare, panting and horrified. Even though it was way before dawn, and the other Clan cats were deep asleep in their dreams of abundant prey, Twilightpaw had gone out of the den in hopes of putting herself at ease. She had been plagued by this nightmare for three moons now, and each night she had come out of the den and done exactly what she was doing now. It seemed almost routine. Except tonight was different. Twilightpaw had the unsettling feeling there was more to it, but she just could not grasp it. A hawk had carried off her brother, Noon, when she was just a kit. And almost every night she was forced to relive it. Some nights she would just lay there trying to push off sleep so she wouldn’t have to remember the day, but in the end sleep always won. It would pull her down into its depths, where she would open her eyes and there was her little brother. And each time it had ended the same, with Noon being carried off by the hawk, except tonight she had seen more in the dream. She had seen herself as Noon, the searing pain of claws in her back, then the sensation of falling. Maybe, just maybe…. No! Noon was dead. And he would always stay that way. Except, should couldn’t shake off the feeling that maybe he was alive. Somewhere out there… Suddenly, Twilightpaw heard a rustle of fur and jumped up, ready to defend herself.

"Relax!" Frostfur called, padding out of the bushes. "I woke up and saw someone moving. Guess it was just you," she said, her soft voice fitting in with the silent night. She came to sit beside her fellow warriors. "What brings you out here so late at night? Bad dream?" she guessed. Sometimes she had dreams that made her cold to the bone. The cool night air, the familier sounds and scents always helped her back to sleep. She nodded at Twilighpaw, understanding. Her snow white fur stuck out in the blackness, her ice blue eyes shining.

Twilightpaw settled th the ground, licking her ruffled fur. "I.... don't know what to do. It seems like my head's battling my heart, one saying something the other denying it. I'm beginnig to feel so lost..." Twilightshadow trails off, staring off into the middle oblivion, her face betraying nothing about what she truly felt. Suddenly, Twilightpaw looks up to Frostfur. There were tears in her eyes. "I misss him so much...."
Ooc: oh my gosh! i fell stupid. Twilightshadow is an apprentice. so it's actually Twilightpaw.

Frostfur gently curled her tail around Twilightpaw."It's ok," she murmured. "We all have to wage war with ourselfs sometimes. The key is to close your eyes, and really think. Normaly, your heart is right. But it can confuse your brain. The best thing to do is to go back to sleep. If that's impossible, go walk around. Sort out your mind," she whispered, purring softly.Poor little thing

"Thanks, Frostfur." Twilightpaw said after awhile of silence. "That means alot to me, that you care so much." Then deciding to follow Frostfur's advice, Twilightpaw sank down onto her haunches. As she slowly drifted to sleep, she could here the soft padding of Frostfur's paws on the ground that gradually faded into the night sounds. Suddenly, Twilightpaw jerked awake. The sun's rays were cascading down through the treetops, ricocheting off the small dew drops. it felt like she hadn't slept at all. Oddly, no usual morning sounds could be heard. The silence was eerie. Then, all of a sudden, something rustled in a nearby bush. Twilightpaw opened her mouth to try to scent the newcomer, and the warm scent of thrush engulfed her. She suddenly noticed how hungry she was. She dropped to her haunches, and taking the hunters crouch, prepared to pounce. Then in a split second, Twilightpaw ambushed the unsuspecting thrush. But just before she got it, it flew away to a tree branch several tail-lengths away. Highly irritated, Twilightpaw got up and went after the thrush for a second time. It did the same thing. Except a little farther away each time. And each time the thrush looked back at her, as if beyond those beady black eyes, it was beckoning her to follow. Soon she found herself in a strange place, with foul-smelling odors surrounding her. In huge piles were Twoleg-Rubbish, and in there shadowy depths stared a pair of menacing eyes. Then another. And another. Soon she was surrounded by flashing, malicious, unfeeling eyes. And with those eyes came huge rogue cats whose fur was matted and coated in alayer of dirt. Many of the cats had torn ears and scars from past battles, and they all looked back with the same expression of pure hatred. Twilightpaw braced herself for the searing pain of claws digging into her stomach and flank, an the teeth that would end her life all to soon. "Stop!" a voince rang out from somewhere in the crowd. "Twilight?" Twilightpaw found herself awake again, lying on the dusty ground that was covering her belly fur in mud. But she didn't care. Noon was alive.

WaterStar walked over to the Deputy and the apprentice. "Hello Frostfur," she meowed, "Hello Twilightpaw." She smiled looking at the two. She gently sat to the hard ground. It was cold, very cold. "So, how are things rolling?" she asked them both.
OOC: sorry its so short, I'm not good a writing long posts.
