The young tabby and white she-cat hardly heard Mimi's next words. A disgusted expression had crossed her face, for she had just picked up the faint traces of the sickly scent of blood. Her pawsteps began to quicken, now dodging bushes and logs left and right. Her mind was spinning, her stomach in knots. This could very well end up as her first real battle. Would she do well? Or would she fail and disappoint Darkslash?
The she-cat threw a glance to her mentor who was not far behind. She knew right then she would not want to disappoint him or disgrace him in any way. Already alone enough, without my help. She thought sadly.
Cricketpaw's head turned once more as the light suddenly grew brighter. Her pace slowed as they came to a clearing near the twoleg area. Her fur prickled with unease at the sight of the nests. She had heard of kit stories in which warriors had been trapped by twolegs and shoved into the bellies of the monsters that seemed to swallow the twolegs then spit them out once more. She then realized she had begun to shake. More scared of the twolegs than the BloodGang! She realized with horror.
A shape on the Thunderpath caused her to stop dead mere moments before Mimi crashed into her side. Eyes large, she watched the kit's shoulders droop with relief. The corpse stunk of twoleg trash, not twolegs themselves. Trying not to gaze at the dead BloodGang cat, she looked around in vain for Mimi's friends. "BloodGang must've gotten them." she observed, not seeing the kittypets anywhere.
